The
Dirt Masters Festival in Winterberg, Germany / May 24th,
2010
The
IXS Dirt Masters Festival in Winterberg, Germany, hosted
last Sunday the Mongoose Slopestyle which is the 3rd event
of the FMB World Tour. The bronze level event showcased
some of Europe’s finest slopestyle riders. 56 riders signed
up for the Pro Class and 16 riders made it into the finals.
With about 5,000 spectators, pure sunshine during the whole
day and a long course with lots of jumps the riders had
great circumstances to show off their best tricks. It was
Sam Pilgrim (UK) who domianted along with Martin Söderström
(SWE). Both had amazing runs, but in Sam’s 2nd run he stuck
a 720 after he threw down already a full bag of tricks.
Martin tried also a 720 during his run, but wiped out and
finished 2nd behind Sam. The German youngster Felix Rosenthal
amazed the local fans with big tricks and frontflips at
the last jump. He got 3rd in a great field of riders in
front of Amir Kabbani (GER), Szymon Godziek (POL) and Niki
Leitner (AUT). After his 2nd win Sam Pilgrim keeps in the
lead in the overall world ranking list followed by Martin
Söderström (SWE) and John Alm Högman (SWE)
